An ex-fashion model of the top class who was 5'10'' in height, Carey was an a fan favorite of high-end American designers such as Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. She is the daughter of an outstanding geologist who in 1979 was named Scientist of the Year from the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists. Carey was educated across the globe because of the work of her father. As she was attending the University of Colorado, Carey began to model on the side. The Ford Model Agency located in New York noticed her and was willing to assist. The year was 1980 when she emigrated to France for a brief period of time, and lived in Paris and Bordeaux and then returned to New York in order to pursue the modeling profession. Her work was showcased on Vogue as well as Glamour cover. Between her modelling assignments she was enrolled in the study of literature in New York University. When she arrived in New York she began to pursue acting. Her acting debut was a role with Robin Williams in the 1986 film 'Club Paradise. When she is not working, she enjoys skiing and windsurfing, climbing up rocks and whitewater river rafting.
