Anamaria Marina is an Romanian actress. Her screen debut was with Sex Traffic, a Channel 4 movie for which she won the British Academy Television Award as Best Actress. The actress speaks French, German, English and Romanian well. Her mother is a professional instrument player. The father of the family is an actor as well as a theatre instructor at one of Romania's leading acting schools. The young Actor Gala Mangalia awarded her the Best Female Actor Award of 2000. She was also named"a European Shooting Star' by the European Film Promotion Board. Alongside her impressive performance in her debut movie The actress will also always be remembered by her performance in the Romanian Art Film 4 months 3, 2 and 3 days that earned her numerous accolades, among them her the European Film Award of Best Actress from the London Film Critics. She starred in the Romanian film 4 luni 3 weeks si 2 zile (4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 days) by Cristian Mungiu. The film won the Palme d'Or at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival and two other awards (the Cinema Prize of the French National Education System and the FIPRESCI prize). She also appeared as the child character in the film of Francis Ford Coppola, Youth Without Youth. She was Yasim Awar in the BBC's 5 episode The Last Enemy miniseries. Marinca was a character in Yasim anwar in Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven, as well as on the Romanian comedy Boogie. She later had a prominent performance in the 2014 film Fury which featured her as a German woman, named Irma Aunt of Emma.
