Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero was an American model and singer. Also, she was co-starring with Prince in his 1984 film Purple Rain. Kotero was the female lead vocalist for Apollonia 6 and co-starred in Prince's film Purple Rain from 1984. The singer and actress christened Apollonia by Prince was one of a number of female musicians in the '80s who benefited from her relationship with the Purple One. Patricia Kotero began her acting and modeling career in Santa Monica California, in the latter half of the '70s. The first time she appeared was on CHiPS. Kotero was the female lead in Prince's Purple Rain in 1984 (at when he was changing his name). The same year, she took over Vanity in the form of the group Vanity 6 and performed with them under the brand name Apollonia 6 in the film. Sex Shooter, the group's minor hit song from the soundtrack was her most chart-topping hit. Kotero and Prince were at odds regarding her career. The Apollonia6 duo split up, Kotero did not keep her romance with Prince. Kotero then appeared in a few minor films during the 80s (reportedly not accepting an opportunity to play in the Purple Rain-follow-up Under the Cherry Moon) prior to settling for an evening-time part in the film Falcon Crest in 1985-1986. Apollonia made her debut in 1988 but the fairly pedestrian set of dance and R&B songs did not make much impression on people who buy music and the album soon vanished out of sight. In the years that followed, she remained an active actress, playing minor roles in films and small TV shows. Apollonia created a bilingual Spanish and English album called Stay with Me. The singer returned to the university, received a diploma in filmmaking. Then she founded her company and worked as a child's TV host. Apollonia is a multi-talented woman. She has worked as an actress, model and the talent manager. She is well-known for her part in the movie Purple Rain. She has also appeared in several other movies and TV series, such as Black Magic Woman and The Divorce Ceremony. Kotero debuted her career as a model. She took part in various pageants and competitions. Kotero was first at Miss San Pedro. Miss San Pedro Beauty Pageant. She began her career in the 80s.
